GORGE Chocolates was established in 2004 in the countryside just minutes from the 12 Apostles. A modest beginning soon gave way to a business appreciated by locals and tourists in the area.
GORGE Chocolates is just 15 kilometres inland from the 12 Apostles on the Princetown Road. Brown tourist signs are present on the Great Ocean Road at the Princetown Road turnoff, located just two kilometres east of the 12 Apostles car park.

Gorge Chocolates is proud to be a member of such a wonderful group of food artisans, that provide a great gourmet experience for locals and tourists visiting the Great Ocean Road and 12 Apostles.
Gorge Chocolates is now the home of Surilana alpacas, which is Victoria's largest alpaca stud.
Ian and Angela purchased Gorge Chocolates in 2019. They have re branded the business “Gorge Chocolates at the Chocolate Alpaca”.
Why Alpaca?
Ian and Angela have owned and run Surilana Alpacas for 20+ years. It is Victoria’s largest alpaca stud and Australia’s largest suri alpaca stud.
Now visitors can not only be treated to great chocolate, hot chocolate and coffee, they can also see the large herd of alpacas. The shop also now has a large array of wonderful alpaca products made from their super soft fleece. The products range from clothing, gift ware, bedding and carpets.
Renovations are now underway to create a large cafe area with some great treats available, including platters made from local produce.

THE CHOCOLATE SHOP
Nestled between the Greater Otway National Park and the rolling hills of lush countryside mostly reserved for dairy farming, GORGE Chocolates offers something of a country experience.
Gorge Chocolates is situated on 100 picturesque acres. As you drive down towards the shop, you will be greeted by alpacas and llamas and a lovely, small vineyard.
Coffee using freshly ground, locally roasted coffee beans is on offer and the Dark Mint hot chocolate is highly recommended – all our hot chocolates are made using REAL chocolate. Pots of tea are also available.
A selection of chocolate tastings are offered to all visitors.
